Video Option

READ the following carefully and click I AGREE to proceed to VIDEO enrollments

Wyatt Institute has offered live classroom instruction for decades in the upstate of South Carolina.  Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the South Carolina Real Estate Commission has temporarily approved online video instruction through our school.  Wyatt Institute is glad to be able to offer the Unit 1 Real Estate Fundamentals, Unit 2 Advanced Real Estate Principles, and Unit 3B Broker’s Exam classes through the medium of internet as online video courses.

While Wyatt Institute is still offering live classes, the number of students in each classroom has been reduced to allow for social distancing.  If the ability to take the classes by video online interests you, you may want to consider this option.  Do not think it will be easier to take the class online.  The online student should be self-disciplined to set aside the time to watch each video, study the notes, and read the textbook.  Limit distractions and other responsibilities so you can focus on the course.

  • Students must watch pre-recorded videos of classroom instruction.  While the videos are not interactive, students may email to ask questions of an available teacher.  (Note:  There may be a rare occasion when an instructor may not immediately be available, but we will have an instructor respond to your question(s) as soon as we are able.)

  • The same materials used in the classroom are provided with the video program.  This includes a textbook and/or notebook with the classroom outline and all handouts and quizzes.

  • The video format allows the student to take a bit longer to complete the course than in the classroom format.  Unit 1 requires the student complete the course within 28 calendar days from initial enrollment.  Our classroom instruction for Unit 1 is completed in 7 ½ days; the online student can also complete the course in 7 ½ days; however, without self-discipline, 28 days will be gone before you know it.  Unit 2 and Unit 3B must be completed within 21 calendar days.  Do not enroll in a course unless you expect to be able to complete the course within the required time.  All video courses should be completed by December 16, 2021, to include passing both onsite tests. The Real Estate Commission will not extend the date beyond 12/31/2021.

  • Students must report to video coordinator after each session completion (to include watching video, taking quiz, and AWARE reading). Email requests will be fulfilled at these time slots during the day:  9:15A, 1:15P, and 5:15P (Mon – Thurs) and  9:15A, 12:15P (on Fridays). Please ensure that your email/video requests are submitted at least 30 mins prior to any of these respective times; otherwise you might have to wait until the next response time. Also, please request any weekend videos before noon on Friday.

  • The final exam(s) (State & National) must be taken in person at the Wyatt Institute office, before the end date of your class.  Students will schedule their final exam(s) through the video coordinator.  See the class terms and policies for more details for each specific class.

  • The student should have a screen large enough so that they can read the PowerPoint presentations on the video.  Phone screens are not appropriate.   A computer monitor or tablet should be adequate.   Either a PC or a Mac should be acceptable.  Since the videos are offered through the internet, internet service is required.

  • The student must complete an enrollment form on our website (available after clicking ‘I Agree‘ below) or at the office.

  • The tuition must be paid in full before textbook, materials, and login information will be provided.

  • The student may pick up textbook and materials from the office or may opt to have them mailed for an additional charge.

  • The student must complete the course within the timeframe required.  The time requirement includes the final exam.  Students must score a grade of 70% or higher to pass the Unit 1 and Unit 2 exams.  The broker exam requires a score of 75% or higher.  Students should expect to be at the office for 3 ½ hours for the Unit 1 or broker exams; up to 2 ½ hours for the Unit 2 exams.  All video courses must be completed no later than December 16, 2021.  Absolutely no exceptions.
